Born in 1965, raised as an only child on a 260-acre farm in the heart of Exmoor, I learned the language of animals long before I understood the language of humans. With 800 sheep, 100 beef cattle, pigs, ponies, and a pack of working terriers as my daily companions, connection became instinct. I wasn’t “training” animals — I was understanding them. And they were understanding me.
From taming wild horses to whispering nervous dogs into calmness, my gift was never taught — it was lived.
Over the decades, I’ve built businesses, led teams, survived a paralysing fall from a horse, completed Ironman challenges, and raced huskies 600km through the Arctic. But no challenge has ever matched the complexity — and joy — of helping humans and dogs bridge the invisible gap between them.
